The GENIAL Young Investigators Mentoring Symposium (GYiMS), held on April 3rd and 4th, 2025 at the Centre de Recherche des Cordeliers, brought together the GENIAL consortium’s scientific community with a common goal: supporting and showcasing the young researchers involved in the GENIAL project.

Organized under the leadership of WP1, headed by Zucman-Rossi, this innovative event placed mentoring and professional development at the heart of its mission. Over the course of two days, participants enjoyed a dynamic program blending training sessions in team management, leadership, scientific publication, and communication, all delivered by expert speakers in their respective fields. The career development-focused mentoring sessions enabled young investigators to acquire essential skills to advance their scientific careers.

The symposium was also marked by outstanding keynote presentations delivered by experts representing the various work packages of the project. Young researchers had the opportunity to share their work through selected oral presentations, fostering valuable exchanges and constructive discussions.

Beyond its scientific contributions, GYiMS played a unifying role by strengthening the sense of community within the GENIAL network. The event encouraged interdisciplinary dialogue, openness, and collaboration—key elements to successfully tackling the ambitious challenges of the consortium. The symposium thus provided a privileged space to share progress from the different research areas, stimulate collective creativity, and inspire a new generation of scientists to pursue excellence in research.

GYiMS has laid the foundations for a strong, collaborative, and forward-looking community, empowering young investigators to actively contribute to the future of science.
